Latvian Library for the Blind is a public library whose main goal is to ensure library, bibliographical and informational services to persons with print disabilities (people who are blind, have low vision or who have reading or other physical disabilities).
Latvian Library for the Blind reproduces books in accessible formats such as audio books, books in Braille and large print.
Latvian Library for the Blind was founded in 1962. First it was called Central Republican Braille Library.
In 1988 library was renamed — Republican Library for the Blind.
In 1992 library was renamed again. Since then it’s called Latvian Library for the Blind.
